Experience matters.....students not for months but years!
Longevity and stability help a student grow consistently. I take pride in the long term growth of students and know this to be a reason why so many students reach excellent levels of musicianship over the years.

As a voice teacher....
Steve has had the pleasure of teaching voice to students ranging from children through adult. He has been a actor's equity vocal coach and has taught voice in Maryland, Pa. and Texas.
Some students, like Justin Beaman, go onto to study voice at the collegiate level.
Many others, are younger students developing their vocal abilities to use in musical productions.
Quite a few voice students have gotten leads in area theater companies such as ENCORE YOUTH THEATER, CAPA and the Holly Springs Cultural Center, to name a few.

Piano Lessons
"Mr. Steve", as he is known by most of the younger students, takes great pride in giving beginning students a correct start in piano playing. He combines cognitive diagnostic techniques with applied motor skills to tailor lessons to the unique needs of each student, while having fun.
Beginning students, does not always mean YOUNG students!!! Steve accepts students as young as six and has had students start their piano education in the seventies.

Strings,
STRINGS,
STRINGS!!!
Steve utilizes teaching techniques from the Suzuki, Kodaly and Orff methodologies and mixes them with a few tricks of his own to help students young and old succeed in playing symphonic string instruments. Students play a wide variety of music including popular music, country music (yes, he even "fiddles"), show music, original and classical music.
Steven has helped area teachers be better teachers and many students in being successful and satisfied instrumentalists. One is even a concertmaster at a local high school!
In addition to private lessons, students will be provided ability level opportunities to play in/with fellow instrumentalists

what do the parents say????
While credentials are good, the MOST important question is "How will he work with my child?"
Here is just a short list of testimonials to help answer that question. Take a look at what others have said about Steve Wheltle:

We have found Mr Wheltle to be delightful, and an excellent piano teacher for my eldest son. He has managed within a year and a half to get him to play the piano so well that you would think he had been playing for a number of years. What is more - my son looks forward to his piano lesson each week, and Mr Wheltle has engendered a love for the piano in my son. We have been so pleased with the service and teaching offered by this teacher - we highly recommend Mr Wheltle.

Steve was very responsive to my initial contact. He offers fun, informative lessons that are better than I had hoped (voice lessons). I can't wait to see how much I can learn from his vast experience and understanding of vocal training.

My daughters enjoy their voice lessons and ensemble with Mr. Steve immensely! I appreciate his ability to work with kids at a professional level and still make it fun and exciting.
Dear Mr. Wheltle,
I want to thank you for the meaningful time and love for our church's girls during this season of learning. I see a good progress in Jocelyn and Luz Elena, Milene and Karen are more confident now and Brisel is going there too. Sunday was good to see how much they have improved. I saw more confidence in them. I hope we will have another season with you next year. I am looking for the parents of the small ones to step in faith ad commit to let them to learn music.
Thank you again and God bless you.
